Join our team at our Weeks Island Facility near New Iberia, LA. Our facility has 175+ employees dedicated to safety, quality and customer service. We mine and produce rock salt used in a variety of industries.  

Project Engineer - Electrical Position

We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the facility by managing the electrical engineering activities associated with projects to achieve tonnage targets.

  • Oversee projects from inception to completion with safety and efficiency as the primary goal.
  • Investigate and recommend modifications to present operations when more flexible and feasible engineering alternatives could improve productivity or quality.
  • Acts as an engineering consultant for day-to-day problems where engineering advice could resolve the issue.
  • Select and monitor contractors to ensure compliance with government regulations and Company policies.
  • Lead the electrical upgrades to operations and major project repairs.
  • Participate in and support the Maintenance Excellence Work Process and the Safety Journey Process.
  • Work with Mine Hoist operations to support maintenance and improvements to hoisting equipment.
  • Fill in for Foreman when required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment. Mine experience is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing electrical projects.
  • Experience with industrial plant electrical setup and maintenance.
  • Experience in contractor management.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming and HMI setup and maintenance, system networking and Sweitzer relay setup and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in MicroSoft software to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Previous supervision skills is a plus.
