Sales and Marketing

The Morton Salt Sales and Marketing team works with each of our three business segments: Consumer, Industrial and Bulk Deicing. Key responsibilities include:

  • P&L management
  • Pricing strategy
  • Brand management
  • Advertising and promotion
  • Product development
  • Forecasting and analysis
  • Customer relationship management

Research and Development

The Research and Development (R&D) team always works with various departments within Morton Salt in order to:

  • Generate new or improved products
  • Provide innovative solutions to production problems
  • Improve the efficiency of salt operations
  • Provide technical aid to industrial customers

New Chicago Headquarters and Facility Updates

Soon, Morton will move into a state-of-the art office tower along the Chicago River as part of its business and cultural transformation strategy. The 52,600 square feet of space in the 52-story tower located at 444 W. Lake Street offers world class architecture, extraordinary views of the city and first-class amenities including a 1.5-acre public park and landscaped riverwalk, fitness center, amenity retail, fine dining restaurant and building conference center.

Other recent updates include expanded food grade manufacturing capabilities at its salt production facility in Port Canaveral, FL and a new state-of-the-art food lab at its R&D center in Elgin, IL that is dedicated to exploring the next generation of reduced sodium solutions.



Morton Salt produces three categories of products:

Consumer Products

Table & Specialty Food Salts, Water Softening & Ice Melt Products.

Industrial Products

Evaporated Rock & Solar Salt products used for food, pharmaceuticals, and chemical grade salt.

Ice Control Products

Rock Salt stored in stockpiles used for roadway maintenance.
