Job Description

As the Director for Customer Supply Chain for Morton Salt in Chicago you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop long and short-term strategic direction and execute initiatives.
  • Leading harmonization efforts across the businesses.
  • Identifying technology, process improvement, metrics and collaboration needed with other areas involved in the customer order process and overall customer experience 
  • Creating an environment of increased connectivity and consistent communication cross functionally utilizing industry best practices
  • Building strategic partnerships with top customers, identifying shared supply chain efficiencies while aligning with customer’s initiatives
  • Partnering with IT to review and recommend key system needs that are required to fulfill customer expectations in the areas of Order Fulfillment, EDI, and Vendor Compliance
  • Developing and managing a set of historic metrics, measures and indicators to deliver on the customer service and broader business strategies
  • Developing proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks with respect to order fulfillment, and educate broader teams as to improve ongoing customer service.
  • Leading the Customer Supply Chain team in being a total account management mindset organization- Focusing on initiatives to improve the overall customer experience
  • Bringing best practices in customer service strategy, benchmarking and score carding
  • Working cross functionally to identify service improvement & cost saving opportunities.
  • Providing coaching, mentoring & leading employee development.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics- or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 15 years of Experience in Supply Chain Operations
  • Customer/Service Orientation
  • Ability to track designing, managing, mentoring coaching and developing high performing teams
  • Project and change management experience
  • Strong analysis/problem solving skills and independent decision making with a commitment to resolution in a rapidly changing business environment
  • E2E supply chain understanding, including procurement / logistics/manufacturing /planning /distribution.   Can make the appropriate recommendations, draw the right conclusion and drive the  right decisions for the company with complex trade-off management between different functions
  • SAP Experience, including SAP ECC system and CRM system. Advanced planning system experience with SAP APO/IBP
  • Experience developing and executing strong cross functional relationships at all levels in the organization.
  • Willingness tor travel up to 50% (Post covid)
  • Additional Skills Preferred
  • MBA or master’s degree of Supply Chain Management
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification
  • APICS Certification
