Our distribution centers are strategically located to serve the United States' geographically dispersed markets via truck and rail.  Products made in South Hutchinson are from evaporated salt (salt recovered from brine) and are used in Pharmaceutical products, household and food products, as well as for agricultural, water softening and industrial purposes.
 
The Challenge
We need employees to join our South Hutchinson team that are safety oriented, positive and energetic.  This position is responsibile for proactively maintaining and repairing production equipment to ensure the effective operation of the machinery, while maintaining the quality of the product. This is a Union environment, so schedule/shift  may change based on seniority. 
Responsibilities
WORK PERFORMED
 Ensures operation of machinery and electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.Performs preventative and predictive maintenance activities and makes necessary corrections and adjustments to control downtime and maintain maximum production and quality. Identifies and corrects root cause of repetitive failures.Troubleshoots and repairs electrical components of the manufacturing equipment. Analyzes electrical and operational problems on manufacturing equipment and takes corrective action.Locates sources of problems by observing electrical/mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and makes recommendations. Diagnoses system controls and software issues. Reviews, programs, troubleshoot and repairs Ladder Logic Electrical Diagrams and PLC Programs. Uses basic PC/PLC knowledge and electrical schematics to electrically install, modify, enhance and repair machines and mechanical equipment. Installs and troubleshoots PLCs and drives. Provides electrical expertise to the team to assist in creating and implementing the best solutions to manufacturing challenges. Reads and interprets electrical schematics and machine manuals to perform safe and effective repairs while using basic electrical concepts, practices, and theory. Use drawings/blueprints, schematic diagrams, service manuals, code manuals, and manufacturer's specifications to mechanically install, modify, enhance and repair machines and production equipment. Installs facility lighting, wiring, machinery motors, electrical panels, breakers, airlines, water lines, or gas lines as needed.Start/restarts machines and production equipment after installations, modifications, enhancements, and repairs to ensure optimal operation.  Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Performs general facilities maintenance activities.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.Ensures all maintenance and repair activities are in compliance with OSHA, Federal, Local and plant safety standards. Keeps working area clean, neat, and orderly, and tools clean and in good repair. Does other jobs of a related nature as directed.  
Qualifications
Job Requirements:Thorough knowledge of electric motors, hydraulic systems, pumps, presses, transformers, air compressors, air cylinders, PLC’s, electronics, control circuits, Logic and air control valves and regulators.Knowledge of clutches, bearings, brakes, gears, cams, pulleys, gas burners, regulators, burner controls, steam generators, steam controls, regulators, and heat exchangers.Ability to operate lathes, mills, plasma cutters and cutting equipment to fabricate/repair machine/mechanical equipment and repair parts. Ability to perform various welding and fabrication operations to install, modify, enhance, repair, equipment/machinery. Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand for 8 hours per day, walk for extended distances, climb four flights of stairs to access equipment, climb ladders, work on equipment above the shoulders/overhead, work in confined spaces, be able to lift and carry, push, pull 50+ pounds, be able to grasp, have fine motor skills.  Must be able to work in extreme cold and extreme heat. High School Diploma or the Equivalent.  Advanced training/education to meet the job requirements.  AAS/Certification in Industrial Maintenance preferred
