Job Description

Purpose:

To analyze work orders and operational guidelines to establish daily and weekly execution schedules and coordinates outside vendor logistics. To schedule, coordinate and monitor equipment maintenance functions through the efforts of others. Schedule the assets and equipment required through the SAP program in order to reduce breakdowns and time to make equipment repairs. The position reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

  • This position will report directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and work in a collaborative environment with the Mine Operations and Maintenance Departments, including the Store Room staff and management.
  • Responsible for creating, communicating and monitoring repair schedules while insuring that they are followed.
  • Works in cooperation with Operations, Reliability Engineering, Maintenance Planning and Store Room to develop schedules in SAP and aid in monitoring the timeliness of work performed by Maintenance personnel who are conducting the PM/Inspections in order to insure work is being performed in a timely manner and at acceptable standards.
  • Assist in removing problems that may arise during the equipment repair cycle and preventative maintenance activities are addressed.
  • Responsible to schedule break-in demands according to policies and rules set by MEWP and maintains equipment availability status.
  • Builds daily and weekly unit-maintenance schedule as well as shutdown-work schedules and adjust these schedules as required..
  • Maintains record keeping system for equipment specification, maintenance history, and costs in an organized and current manner.
  • Audits Work Order Packets, internally or otherwise generated (parts ordered, manpower scheduled, and work completed) with consideration given for priorities.
  • Prints Work Order Packets (PM's and Repairs) and delivers then to Maintenance Foreman.
  • Recommends cost improvements regarding parts usage, other supplies, and labor within the department while producing efficiency statistics such as completion vs. schedule percentages, On Time PM Compliance to Schedule percentage etc. while reviewing Ready to Schedule backlog and is accountable for keeping a clean backlog.
  • Works underground a significant part (80%) of the time, occasionally off shifts and weekends. May perform as a Relief Foreman from time to time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A minimum 3 years of scheduling heavy equipment repairs experience or mechanical engineering background highly desirable.
  • Must possess a minimum of 2 years SAP, MS Excel and Word.
  • Underground mining experience strongly preferred
  • Work in industrial plants preferred
  • Knowledge of mining law as it applies to maintenance of systems and equipment.
