Job Description

As a Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for:

Analyzes work orders, schedules, and other documentation to establish appropriate craft resource assignments.  Oversees the quality, quantity, and safety of work performed by the craftspeople and ensures that complete comprehensive documentation is provided on all work assignments.

Directs the assignment and execution of craftwork assignments, through the management of craftspeople.  Ensures jobs are planned, scheduled, and completed in accordance with the governing maintenance process and safety guidelines.

Conduct required training relating to safety and job skills.

Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.  Coordinate equipment usage and availability.

Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, safety, and quality standards.  Ensure craftspeople follow standard repair and work process procedures.

Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Completes weekly and daily schedules of work to be completed by craftspeople.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.  Provide feedback to operations on work expectations.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the work.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Coordinate inspection and testing requirements.

Evaluate information to ensure complete factual details throughout the work process.

Ensure proper notification of involved parties when work is not completed as planned and scheduled.

Manage craft over time.

Manage the completion of preventative maintenance work orders in a timely manner.

Track work order completion delay data.

Maintains time and production records.

Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Directly supervises 11 to 13 employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Regularly required to use hands and finger for design work. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Regularly lift up to 10 pound and frequently lift up to 25 pound.  Vision required for close, distance and depth perception around the facility.

Job Requirements

Fifth year college or university program certificate (industrial maintenance, electrical automotive/diesel mechanics or engineering); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
