Job Description


Responsible for driving profitability of National Retail channel through merchandising, promotion, shelf sets, new product introduction and pricing.  Lead the cross functional National Retail channel strategy to include business development and execution. Achieve profitable growth plan for Food Service, Direct Store Delivery, Retail, Dollar, Pool Dealership, Hardware, Mass, Agriculture, Convenience, Distributors and other sub channels as assigned.  Ensure the organizational development and design of the National Retail Channel meets/exceeds customer expectations by ensuring appropriate resource allocation, structure, capabilities and broker management.


Essential Duties
1.     Develop, implement and track account plans for regional accounts, developing initiatives to drive sales and margin growth throughout the channel.
2.     Supervise and manage the performance of assigned account executives. Maintain team performance and team activities.  Communicate all relevant information and ensure a professional development of the team members.
3.     Oversee the execution of sales plan for regional and independent accounts, which include distributors, agriculture, hardware, water dealers, convenience, pool salt and others to achieve annual business plan targets. 
4.     Conduct quarterly business reviews measuring the performance of the key accounts against business plan and conduct top-to-top meetings with key accounts including distributors conducting jointly HQ calls with account executives where needed.
5.     Initiate prospecting within current channels and emerging channels, including gathering information from the field, identifying opportunities, conducting initial opportunity assessment meetings and orchestrating necessary follow-up by delegating opportunities to account executives and managing team’s prospecting activities.
6.     Execute marketing plans developed in conjunction with the account plan to achieve goal.
7.     Maintain internal data on customers through timely call-notes submission and related customer data tracking.
8.     Represent Company at industry functions, associations and trade shows.
9.     Interface with marketing manager, customer service, production and other functions as needed.


Minimum Position Qualifications
Education:    Bachelor Degree in Business administration, marketing or any relevant discipline
Experience:   10 years sales experience
                              A minimum of 1 - 3 years in management
