Job Description

This is an new position, reporting to the Operations Network Manager, with the company’s Operations Technology (OT) Team, which differs from tradition IT as OT is the technology that runs Morton’s mission critical production systems (equipment interfaces, controls, data collection, communications, server set-up and maintenance, etc.)
 
This position will provide remote support for other manufacturing sites across North America and will involve travel (approx. 1 week/month).  On call rotation and emergency or project based afterhours work will be required.
 

Responsibilities  
Ensure the security of the OT network by managing, monitoring, and maintaining the security of our systems, and responding to security incidents.
Act as a point of help for technology issues
Install, Configure, Manage, Image Windows desktop and laptop PCs
Install and Maintain software and security updates and patches
Configure APC and other UPSes
Install, Configure, manage, image Windows and Linux servers
Adhere to and develop Standard Operating Procedures for all items
Maintain accurate and professional levels of documentation
Network Administration – including but not limited to
Cisco switches, routers, APs, and firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, Ubiquiti wireless access points
Linux and Windows servers – including Active Directory, DNS, Apache, MySQL, PostreSQL, etc.
Maintaining network diagrams and maps, DNS entries, network tools (Cacti, Nagios, etc)
Remote Access / VPN solutions
WSUS and other security patching solutions
Work on projects to develop OT network, server, and security infrastructure – ex: Antivirus, Virtualization, SIEM, IDS, Firewalls, etc.
Deploy and support IP Video Camera and Door Lock Security systems
Continuing education by taking annual training classes and/or obtaining certifications
Adhering to all corporate and plant Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality policies.
 
 
 

Qualifications The Operations Network Analyst reports to the Operations Network Manager and has no direct reports.
 
 
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:.
 
The incumbent will be part of the geographically diverse Operations Network Team, consisting of the Operations Network Manager and other Operations Network Analysts, responsible for all our plants in North America (Canada, USA, and Bahamas).
 
The incumbent will also work with plant engineering and technical staff, plant managers, and our IT department across North America, including our Head Offices based in Chicago and Pointe-Claire. 
 
 
EDUCATION:
 
Minimum of Four Year Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
 
 
EXPERIENCE:
 
A minimum of 1-5 years’ experience preferred, but candidates with varying experience will be considered.
 
 
OTHER SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR COURSES REQUIRED TO FULFILL POSITION’S ACCOUNTABILITIES, etc.
 
Attention to detail, ability to meticulously document and track items
Windows, Linux, and Cisco network administration skills, ability to work from a command line environment, understand how things work at an enterprise level
Working knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) – PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and related process control systems
Understanding of how ICS networking and security differs from traditional IT systems
Ability to learn new things and adapt in a fast paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain technical things to non-technical people
Programming skills a plus – especially batch / PowerShell / bash scripting, PHP, SQL Databases, etc
 French language skills a plus.
