Job Description

Reporting to the PC Support Manager this role the OC Services Desktop Specialist will be responsible for: the following tasks:

  • Hardware setup and management working with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, OS installation and configuration, OS patching, cabling, general troubleshooting, working with vendors to track shipment dates, verify correct equipment is delivered and work with vendors to remediate any issues, application and OS license activation and documentation.  Hardware includes laptops, desktops, mobile device such as iPhones and iPads.  
  • Provide Tier1/Tier 2 support to employees  
  • Perform periodic maintenance on all end user equipment
  • Image Windows 10 and future Windows versions for laptops & desktops
  •  Administer and deploy desktop computers, laptops, phones and software
  •  Provide Microsoft Office application support which includes Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.  
  • Produce documentation on all processes practiced or developed
  • Provide VPN Support
  • Work closely with other team members, locally and globally, with proactive sharing of expertise, to improve and ensure team success
  • Participate fully in the success of the overall global IT team
  • Provide off-hours coverage/support as needed.
  • Travel to locations to provide additional support, as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on desktop support experience is required.

  • Thorough knowledge of Windows10 and Microsoft Office
  • Experience supporting/managing devices that use cellular services for employees.    
  •  Knowledge of local/domain user security, Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Ability to travel up to 30%   
  • Nice to Haves (but not required) include:
  • Post-secondary education with a concentration in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • COMP TIA-Network 
  •  Microsoft Certifications M365 Admin, Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 or 2019.
  • Knowledge of all LAN/WAN-related network sites and services.
  • Knowledge of M365.  
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2019 or newer, VMWare 7.0 or Hyper-V.
