Job Description

The incumbent has as a prime objective to supervise all accounting entries related to the plant and assure that they are in accordance with the IFRS / GAAP rules. He/she will organize, control and coordinate the preparation of the annual direct and period cost budget, assure that inventories are accurate and properly valuated. Furthermore, the incumbent prepares the monthly analysis of plant performance and works closely with the plant manager and other plant staff in order to find and apply cost savings measures. He participates in the plant staff meetings.

Responsibilities Provides leadership to drive continuous improvements in product quality.  Understand the importance of product safety, legality and quality – Informs the Quality Supervisor and any other key stakeholders of any issues.
 
Participating in the development of annual budget:  The incumbent controls and coordinates the preparation of the annual direct and period cost budget as per prescribed schedule. Using the volumes provided by sales department, he /she determines the headcount and energy requirements, calculates the production, support and service costs and assist the Plant Manager in the presentation of the plant budget.
Perform monthly forecasts in coordination with the Plant Manager. This includes monthly discussions with corporate.
Monitoring of cost performance and preparing monthly key reports:  He/she performs duties including the timely explanations of the monthly financial results and forecast the budget variances for the future periods.  The incumbent prepares monthly reports and present them to management and finds solutions for cost reduction.
Preparing and approving the monthly journal entries:  These entries include bank activity, prepaid expenses, accruals & payroll postings
Approving accounts payables documents and responding to vendor inquiries: The incumbent reviews and approves the purchase requisitions (SRM module), allocation slips, check requests, cash payments and provides timely answers to vendor inquiries.
Monitoring, updating and ensuring the accuracy of the inventory accounts:  Working  with production and supply chain departments, the incumbent monitors the accuracy of the inventory data base, report the obsolete and slow moving items, reviews and identifies solutions for the COGI errors. He/she approves and monitors physical counts, reconcile the results and post the differences in the accounting system. 
Reviewing and approving the payroll documents: The incumbent is responsible for the accuracy and timing of the payroll postings. He/she works closely with payroll clerk and other department supervisors, reviews and approves the payroll documents.
Reconciliation of the following general ledger accounts on a monthly basis:
- Inventory accounts (finished goods, package materials and ingredients)
- Accrual and prepaid accounts
- Payroll and fringe accounts
- Accounts payables clearing suspense
- Miscellaneous clearing accounts
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify contacts within and outside the company with whom the incumbent must interact and describe the extent of the working relationship.
The incumbent works with Plant Manager, Engineers, Supervisors, Cost & Financial Analysts, Corporate Finance Managers and Auditors.
Performs other related duties, as required.

Qualifications •         Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business Administration
•         A minimum a 5 years’ experience in similar role preferably in manufacturing environment.
