Job Description

  • Directly supervising the activities of production employees in the act of processing and shipping product
  • Ensuring safe operation of all equipment at the facility
  • Facilitating capture of near misses, accident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
  • Entering Maintenance notifications and work with Maintenance department to communicate any issues
  • Reviewing all employee timecards, managing employee time off to ensure support is adequate for the shift
  • Providing daily production recaps and downtime
  • Conducting pre-shift huddle meetings and set expectations for shift performance/productivity
  • Coordinating resources of production (manpower, raw material inventory and equipment condition) to ensure production needs are met in a safe and efficient manner
  • Managing housekeeping to ensure safe, efficient production
  • Monitoring warehousing and orderly storage of finished product produced on shift
  • Conducting safety meetings, incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • Scheduling production to facilitate the shipment order demands
  • Coordinating resources of production (manpower, raw material, inventory, equipment condition) to ensure production needs are met in a safe and efficient manner
  • Reviewing finished goods inventory and production reports to verify accuracy, reporting to management
  • Coordinating activities between all production shifts
  • Providing weekly production reports
  • Inputting and tracking work orders generated for facility maintenance through the Maintenance Management System
  • Providing leadership to drive continuous improvements in product quality
  • Understanding the importance of product safety, legality, authenticity and quality – informs the Quality Department and/or the Leadership Team of any issues related to these
  • Performing other duties as reasonably assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of production processing / packaging preferred
