Job Description

The Quality Systems Manager supports the Regional Quality Manager in leading, designing and managing the network Quality Management System and supports the local Quality Managers with incident escalation, incident management and troubleshooting. 

  • Lead the development, maintenance, training and implementation of quality systems across the organization.
  • Provide strategic leadership of quality systems harmonization activities across all manufacturing locations, where applicable.  This includes methodology, instrumentation, sampling, and reporting.
  • Manager the customer complaint investigation process, including conducting root cause analysis and driving corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs) into manufacturing processes and/or product specification.
  • Lead the Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPA’s) process for all food safety and quality deviations including verification of effectiveness of CAPA’s.
  • Define and develop the annual Quality Program training needs for all employees.
  • Review, updates or develop quality systems procedures to identify and correct gaps and maintain compliance with regulations, new products or customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties related to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's) and partnering with various departments to ensure Morton's quality standards are met.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment; supervisory experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering or related field required;
  • Greenbelt/Six Sigma Certification desirable
  • Knowledge of USP and GFSI Standards and Regulatory Requirements of FDA FSMA, CFIA SFCR, HACCP Programs; PCQI Certified preferred. 
  • Experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating action plans and developing and implementing new strategies
  • Ability to motivate a team, influence peers and effectively accomplish tasks through others; ability to foster a cooperative work environment in a matrix organization
