K+S North America are looking for a Sales Associate to join their team in preparation of planned expansion from the recently commissioned ‘Bethune’ potash mine in Saskatchewan, Canada. This role will start by supporting our existing business and take ownership of some key accounts whilst learning and growing towards a full sales management position.
This position requires travel within the US and Canada to customers and suppliers, international travel may be required from time to time. You will be based out of our Chicago office with an immediate start.

Responsibilities Support the design, development and implementation of a marketing and distribution strategy
Develop, implement and track the account plan for each assigned key account in conjunction with the internal planning process as well as develop and track initiatives to drive sales and margin growth
Work closely with our service providers, both in the US and Germany, to coordinate shipments from the K+S mines / production sites
Manage and negotiate prices and product offerings based on contracts and current market environments
Seek, report and develop new business opportunities through to implementation of new product offerings
Maintain internal data on customers through timely call-notes submission and related customer data tracking (CRM system)
Learn and gain proficiency on all key business systems (SAP)
Establish yourself as the number one contact person regarding quality and complaints for all customers
Cultivate relationships with all local market participants to gather market information, competitor activities and product movements within region
Represent the company at industry functions, associations and trade shows defining important relationships with all significant stakeholders.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Agricultural, Business or Marketing related field
Ability to think critically
Be organized and able to manage multiple priorities
Good interpersonal skills and able to communication confidently, clearly and effectively at multiple levels both inside and outside the organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
Preferred Skill (Not a Requirement):
Multi-lingual (Spanish and/or German)
