Job Description

Provide leadership and support in functional areas of human resources including recruitment, employment, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, benefits administration, employee development, training and special projects. Serves as a strategic and tactical business partner to the Site leadership team.
Responsibilities
  • Efficiently manage and direct functions in the Human Resources Department in accordance with company policies and procedures and in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. 
  • Rsponsible for the administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Administration of employment employee relations, labor relations, and plant security. 
  • Serve as the plant contact and company representative with government agencies.
  • Supervises and directs the work of HR staff direct reports as well as soliciting, hiring and training of qualified employees.
  • Insures that company policies and procedures are followed and work is performed in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Represents the company and serves as the company spokesperson during grievance meetings and disciplinary meetings with employees.
  • Serves as plant contact and company representative with various government agencies including the State Employment office, Department of Labor, EEOC,  NLRB, OFCCP, and local law enforcement.
  • Composes inter-company correspondence and correspondence to outside parties concerning employment matters.
  • Serves as Affirmative Action coordinator at plant and insures that guidelines are followed.
  • Coordinates company's legal defense with corporate attorneys and outside attorneys in worker's compensation and employment related litigation.
  • Ensures that plant's policies and procedures are administered in a fair, lawful and consistent manner.
  • Stay abreast of changes in employment and  labor laws keeping management updated of any significant changes in the regulations.
  • Assists supervisors with evaluations and maintains complete/accurate job descriptions on file.
  • Ensures that plant security personnel are performing their work in accordance with plant  instructions, policies and procedures.              

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Mgmt or related field.
  • Minimum of  five (5) years experience in the Human Resources field.
  • Union Labor Relations experience required.
Preferred experience in/with:
  • Health & Safety/MSHA
  • SAP
