Job Description

As the Sr Analyst for the Pricing Team at Morton Salt in Chicago, this role is responsible for the following:

  • Pricing Strategy Development: Supports Pricing Manager in developing/enhancing strategies to optimize our product mix and maximize margin while fully utilizing our production capabilities. Balance customer requirements with production and logistics constraints when developing optimal pricing strategy. Support the development of executive-level presentations.
  • Guide and Support Consumer Product and B2B P&L Teams: Align pricing strategy targets across Consumer Products and B2B P&L Teams ensuring that the company is implementing the pricing strategy and maximizing profitability. Oversee key pricing initiatives to address gaps in financial targets vs. actuals.

  • Pricing Implementation and Analysis: Responsible for implementing pricing strategy at the individual customer level for assigned business segments

    Provide data-driven pricing recommendations based on market and consumer/customer trends and competitive landscape.

  • Price Requests & Maintenance: Responsible for analyzing price requests and providing a recommendation that aligns with our strategy. Partner with transportation to ensure accurate use of freight rates in price assessments and maintain pricing guidelines and price lists for all products, channels and segments.
  • Orders on Price Hold: Accountable for reviewing all orders placed on price hold and work cross-functionally to resolve price discrepancies.
  • Reporting-Perform monthly assessment to compare projected financial impact of pricing actions versus actuals.

Job Requirements

Our company values and recognizes the diversity of the workforce, and is looking for talented individuals with:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 4+ years of pricing and/or business-related experience.

  • Well-rounded business acumen with skills in Marketing, Brand and Finance.

  • P&L management experience preferred, exposure to P&L management required

  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.

  • Ability to understand, analyze, and implement pricing strategies and effectively communicate and implement recommendations.

  • Committed to consistently deliver on-time accurate results.

  • NOTE that this position can be based in any city where Morton/Kissner Salt has an office or plant location. We have two open roles.
