Engineering COOP - Intern
Responsibilities
This job is a support role for the Engineering Group at the Weeks Island Facility. Technical skills are required to provide hands on mine and surface assistance to include monitoring, data collection, sampling, analysis and mapping. Engineering COOP will work closely with Engineering, Mine Production and Mine Maintenance Groups focused on regular sampling, monitoring, testing, mapping and equipment reliability for an underground mine and surface operations. This role requires regular visits to the mine, mill and surrounding surface areas to monitor mine and environmental conditions such as ground movement, ventilation, subsidence and equipment reliability. Individual required to successfully measure, ensure data integrity, analyze, process and communicate results. Attention to detail is required to identify and communicate any potential concerns related to movement or other anomalies. Must be able to work independently and in group setting.

Field work will include underground and surface industrial environment where potential dust, high temperatures, and other industrial and mine related hazards may be encountered. High work will be required for many tasks assigned.
