K+S Windsor Salt is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at our Ojibway Mine in Windsor, Ontario.  Our southern Ontario location (Windsor, Ontario), bordered by Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, and the Detroit River, produces a temperate climate ideal for year-round recreational activities and a pleasant lifestyle. Reporting to the departmental General Supervisor Maintenance, the incumbent will bean integral part of the department responsible for the supervision of direct reports in the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of Company assets. As well, the incumbent is required to analyze current processes to maximize the uptime of equipment through the efficient and effective use of skilled and non-skilled unionized employees. This position rotates on three shifts.


- Health and Safety: Utilizing IRS principles ensure that legislation and Company rules/regulations are built in and followed in all assignments and responsibilities. This includes toolbox talks, job assignments, monthly housekeeping and safety meetings, new employee orientation, and investigations.
- Providing Technical Expertise: the incumbent will be accountable to ensure that all activities in the department are prioritized and performed in an efficient and effective manner within the guidelines of the Collective Agreement, Company policies and procedures and legislative requirements. Liaising with Production departments and Engineering staff are essential in ensuring objectives are achieved.
- Employee Management: Through the communication of job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures, the expectation is to create an efficient, consistent, cooperative and respectful work environment within the guideline of the Collective Agreement, Company policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
- Administrative: These responsibilities include weekly scheduling, overtime canvassing and recording, payroll and labour allocation, maintenance work orders, job and task analyses, parts requisitions and other duties as required.
- Environment/Quality: This position is responsible for maintaining product safety, legality and quality as per the corporate We CARE statement.


Post-Secondary Education, Skilled Trades License
3 years in the supervision of skilled trades, unionized personnel in the maintenance and repair of mobile and fixed equipment.
Working knowledge of Time and Attendance system, Maintenance Management systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to correctly prioritize requirements
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
