Mill Manager
We are currently looking for a Mill Manager that will oversee the safe and efficient operation of production areas within our manufacturing facility.  In this position, the incumbent will be responsible to Plan, direct, and control all aspects of the manufacturing process such as environmental compliance, production/processing, quality control and maintenance. Accountable for Mill, Loading, and Warehousing operations. . 

Responsibilities Accountabilities

  • Ensures Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and compliance.
  • Manages area budget / cost, volume and quality.
  • Accountable for the Mill, Loading and Warehousing operations, and Production planning in accordance with demand.
  • Manages area budget / cost, volume and quality.
  • Manages area, Operators, Assistant Operators, Premix Operator, Mixer Operator, Package Operators, and Shipping Coordinator.
  • Works with other departments to meet plant goals and commitments.
  • Participates in Production and Maintenance coordination.
  • Ensures that department is using standard business processes.
  • Delivers on special project assignments. 

  • Participates in capital budget and portfolio management.
  • Responsible for developing and managing the shift schedule for all production staff.
  • Assists in coordinating package, bulk and rail transportation.
  • Participates in succession planning activities.
  • Facilitates interactions between organizations.
  • Develops area manufacturing strategy and cascades the strategy to establish individual employee expectations.
  • Performs other related duties, as required. 
Health, Safety & Environmental

  • Ensures regulatory and corporate compliance.
  • Leads by example. 
Operational Performance

  • Ensures department goals are aligned with plant business imperatives.
  • Ensures quality, safety, and legality of products.
  • Ensures performance goals are met.
  • Establishes and ensures achievement of all unit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.
  • Manages area budget / cost, volume and quality.
  • Supports business processes and requirements.
  • Serves as a corporate steward.

People Management/Development

  • Promotes open and honest communication.
  • Fosters “team building.”
  • Fosters a culture focused on problem solving and process improvement.
  • Ensures decision making at proper levels.
  • Ensures clear roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other related technical degree.

Minimum of (5) years manufacturing experience.

Minimum five (5) years of management experience is preferred.

Process knowledge and technical knowledge required for Food Grade Facilities.
