Job Description


The jobholder is responsible for driving profitability of the food processing business in the Food B2B channel through gaining new accounts/distributors, new product introductions and pricing. The jobholder leads the Food Processing Channel strategy to include business development and execution. The jobholder achieve Morton Salt’s profitable growth plan for food processing and work within the operating budget goals. The jobholder ensures the organizational development and design of the food processing group meets/exceeds customer expectations by ensuring appropriate resource allocation, structure, capabilities and development.
 
The jobholder is also responsible for leading special assignments across the broader Food B2B channel including, but not limited to, select strategic account site visits and QN execution, trade show participation, and representing the Food B2B channel on cross functional channel projects.
 

Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Achieve the Morton annual revenue, margin, market share and volume plans.
2. Develop and implement strategic customer business plans to deliver profitable sales growth.
3. Work cross functionally with Brand and Sales Planning Managers to develop and execute customer & Food B2B strategies.
4. Evaluate industry best practices and institutionalize appropriate systems and processes.
5. Assess attractive market voids or untapped market potential and develop strategies to realize this potential.
6. Work with other Morton functional areas to achieve goals and ensure customer commitments are met or exceeded for supply chain, invoice accuracy, order management, etc.
7. Assess and evaluate current organization(s) to ensure proper resource allocation and capabilities.
8. Lead performance management and personnel development of the food processing Accounts Executives.
 

 
SPECIFIC TASKS  
1. Direct and manage the sales personnel to meet or exceed profitability objectives and customer satisfaction.
2. Manage total sales expense for the food processing group within budget.
3. Participate in the preparation of the annual sales budget and monthly forecast for food processing annual sales.
4. Maintain customer relationships and knowledge of their business models.
5. Develop and implement a strategic plan for all major accounts.
6. Manage and set priorities for direct reports.
7. Take primary role with coaching and developing direct reports.
8. Prepare and present quarterly/annual line reviews for major accounts.
9. Other duties and projects as requested.
 
 
 
 

Qualifications MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business required. MBA desired.
Experience: 5+ years of Food B2B sales experience. 1–3 years of management experience in a food processing organization.
