Job Description

Responsible for driving profitability of the Foodservice business in the Food B2B channel through gaining new accounts/distributors, merchandising, promotion, new product introductions and pricing. Lead the Foodservice channel strategy to include business development and execution. Achieve Morton Salt’s profitable growth plan for Foodservice and work within the operating budget goals. Ensure the organizational development and design of the Foodservice group meets/exceeds customer expectations by ensuring appropriate resource allocation, structure, capabilities and broker management.

Responsibilities Achieve the Morton annual revenue, margin, market share and volume plans for the Foodservice group.
Develop and implement strategic customer business plans to deliver profitable sales growth.
Work cross functionally with Brand and Customer Marketing Managers to develop and execute customer & Foodservice strategies.
Evaluate industry best practices and institutionalize appropriate systems and processes.
Assess attractive market voids or untapped market potential and develop strategies to realize this potential.
Work with other Morton functional areas to achieve goals and ensure customer commitments are met or exceeded for supply chain, invoice accuracy, order management, etc.
Assess and evaluate current staff /broker organization(s) to ensure proper resource allocation and capabilities.
Lead performance management and personnel development of the Foodservice Accounts Executives and Brokers.
 
Specific Tasks
Direct and manage the sales personnel to meet or exceed profitability objectives and customer satisfaction.
Manage total sales expense for the Foodservice group within budget.
Participate in the preparation of the annual sales budget and quarterly reforecast of the Foodservice annual sales.
Maintain customer relationships and knowledge of their business models.
Develop and implement a strategic plan for all major accounts.
Manage and set priorities for direct reports.
Take primary role with coaching and developing direct reports.
Prepare and present quarterly/annual line reviews for major accounts.
Other duties and projects as requested.
 

Qualifications Minimum Position Qualifications
 Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business required.  MBA desired.
 Five or more years of Foodservice sales experience. 1 – 3 years of management experience in a Consumer Products organization.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
History of high performance ratings in current and recent positions.
Outstanding organization, communication, presentation, and management skills.
Proven leadership in sales management role.
Critical thinking skills and a “bias for action”.
Ability to coach and develop sales professionals, including providing direction and feedback for personnel development.
Prior Foodservice experience required.
 
Travel 50% - 60%
