Job Description

Serves as process engineering technical support for designated production departments utilizing technical expertise to ensure efficient process operations. Evaluates, develops and implements technical strategy which supports designated production departments

Employees may be reassigned to other areas, as applicable, to support business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing innovative improvement opportunities to management.
  • Responsible for participating in Root Cause Analyses (RCA’s) in the Problem Solving Process.
  • Responsible for training personnel on operation and troubleshooting of new equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining Equipment documentation, SOP’s, Troubleshooting guides and training material.
  • Responsible for assisting Plant Engineering Department on new Capital projects.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities consistent with the business goals and provides input and direction on the day-to-day operations.
  • Responsible for working with operators and supervisors daily to ensure the plant is operating with the Short Interval Controls (SIC) and helps them troubleshoot any problems.
  • Responsible for Supporting long-term optimization and problem solving by initiating and supporting area improvement projects.
  • Responsible for Project Estimate, Cost Control, Timing and Documentation.
  • Responsible for EHS, MOC, and GMP Compliance.
  • Responsible for Managing Contractors as necessary.
  • Responsible for Developing & Executing Projects as necessary.
  • Accountable for Ensuring Compliance with all QC Requirements (GMP, HACCP) and Providing Leadership to Drive Continuous Improvements in Product Quality. Understands the recording of HACCP observations on production records/logs and how they pertain to the quality, legality and safety of products.
  • May provide vacation and absence relief for Power & Production Manager and Supervisors and, when doing so, provide leadership and coaching to employees in area of responsibility. Relief duties may occur on off-shifts and weekends.
  • Accountable for compliance with ISO 9001 and BRC quality standards.
 
 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related degree.
  • 0 - 5 Years Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical, problem solving, planning and organization skills.
  • Motivated to progress career into company management leadership roles.
  • Knowledge and application of safe work practices.
  • Process design, process optimization or production support experience.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to manage conflict in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work effectively on teams.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, organizational, oral and written communication, planning and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills.
  • Consistently emphasizes and delivers on EHS requirements.
  • Adapts to and leads change management.
  • Consistently delivers results.
  • Ability to develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers and other external contacts.
