Job Description

To apply engineering knowledge to the design, installation, construction and analysis of assigned projects. Prepares capital and expense projects. Responsible for keeping accurate, up-to-date costs on all projects assigned.

Responsibilities Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the construction , removal and installation of approved equipment, process and plant modifications; evaluates progress and performance, takes or recommends remedial actions.
  • Conducting feasibility studies for assigned or proposed project (includes investigation to data, estimation of cost and time requirements, report on alternative and recommendations on courses of action). Projects may be of complex nature or major in size.
  • Designing, developing and testing equipment, process and plant modifications and additions.
  • Obtaining and consolidating details from various sources such as notes, old drawings, sketches, project specifications, field measurements, etc.
  • Consulting with plant personnel to provide engineering advice and knowledge on specific day-to-day problems.
  • Investigating and recommending changes in production, maintenance and operating procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality at an acceptable cost.
  • Assist Plant Draftsman in preparing and modifying detail drawings to scale using the CAD system
  • Drive continuous improvements on Operations Excellence.
Qualifications 5-10 years surface plant exposure

-     Mechanical Engineer Degree

-     Project Management Preferred (PMP)

-     Professional Engineer Preferred (PE)

 

  • Familiarity with facility’s equipment and manufacturing methods.
  • 5-10 year salt mine experience preferred but not required.
  • Required experience with plant maintenance.
  • Ability to plan, organize and carry out projects assigned from design to test.
  • Ability to coordinate detailed phases of projects.
  • Facility for effective oral and written communications to gather data, deal with vendors and communicate actionable conclusions.
  • Networking and equipment controls strongly preferred
  • Ability to supervise others on a project basis.
