Job Description

The jobholder is responsible for driving profitability and business strategies at all regional ‘principal’ key accounts.  The jobholder develops and implements strategies on merchandising, promotion, assortment/shelf sets, new product introductions, and strategic pricing.  The jobholder focuses on profitably growing business in the water softening salt, ice control salt, agricultural salt, and pool salt categories.
The jobholder works cross functionally and develops relationships at all key accounts to align key strategies and sales improvement plans where necessary.  The jobholder aims to achieve Morton Salt’s profitable growth plan for customer base, and ensures the organizational development and alignment on customer expectations through appropriate resource allocation and business planning.
Achieve the Morton annual revenue, margin, market share, and volume plans for
account base.  Prepare monthly demand plan forecast for all product categories.
Execute the business plan for regional account base, delivering on initiatives that drive sales and margin growth throughout the customer base.
Plan for and conduct sales calls for assigned key accounts within territory.
Develop and implement selling strategies with a focus on setting promotions, merchandising, pricing and new distribution for all geographic territories across all designated customers.
Work in conjunction with Inside Sales on account development and prospecting.
Maintain internal data on customers through timely call notes submission and related customer data tracking.
Provide competitive insights and activity to internal cross functional team.
Provide account-level data for post promotion analysis and coordinate with internal and external groups as needed.
Interface with Brand Marketing, Customer Service, and Sales Planning as well as other functions as needed.
Increase revenues by expanding assortments, increasing market share and cross selling of products where possible.
Build key relationships within the region customer base and manage relationship mapping.
Develop key customer metrics scorecard which will be used to monitor business results and update the internal team on key initiatives and progress.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required
Bi-Lingual Preferred 
Minimum 3 - 5 years of consumer products sales experience
History of high performance ratings in current and recent positions
Strong organization, communication, presentation, and time management skills
Strong selling skills and relationships skills
Critical thinking skills and ability to problem solve with a “bias for action”
Customer-orientation and client development
Good prospecting/cold calls skills
Microsoft Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word skills
Travel 80%
