Join a winning team in our Long Beach Facility on the Long Beach Pier.  Our facility is small but efficient with 9 employees dedicated to safety, quality and customer service.  We produce a variety of salt for different uses.
 
Shipping/Quality Tech Position
We are currently looking for a Shipping/Quality Tech Clerk.  In this position, the incumbent will work with the shipping and production teams to ccordinate laoding and provide clerical support as required. In addition, the successful candidate will ensure we meet our quality goals, via testing, program compliance and inspections.

Responsibilities  

  • Check in and assist truck drivers when they arrive.  Verify drivers pickup number matches order. Adjust product quantities to assure weight is in compliance with DOT Standards.
 

  • Verify loading documents, checking product quantities and date codes.  Shipment report to generate bills of lading.
  • Access computer files to research and verify proofs of delivery.
 

  • Update tax exemption forms, mail correspondence to customer, then enter exemption number in customer database.
  • Coordinate shipping with truck drivers.
 

  • Compile data by comparing actual shipping versus shipping verification report daily.
  • Print, sort and distribute loading documents and bills of lading.
 

  • Calculate tonnage totals on bills of lading.
 

  • Records production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
 

  • Requisitions and maintains inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
 

  • Compiles information, such as production rates and progress, materials inventories, materials used, and customer information, so that status reports can be completed.
 

  • Prints required forms, inventory control stickers, placarding, etc. as required for production and shipping. 
  • Accountable for maintaining and recording information in various spreadsheets as directed.
 

  • Perform miscellaneous office functions to include typing and filing.
  • Monitors Salt Quality
  • Performs basic salt testing
  • updates programs
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED
Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word) and SAP skills
Experience in bills of lading and transportation helpful
