Our distribution centers are strategically located to serve the United States' geographically dispersed markets via truck and rail.  Products made in South Hutchinson are from evaporated salt (salt recovered from brine) and are used in Pharmaceutical products, household and food products, as well as for agricultural, water softening and industrial purposes.

The ChallengeWe need employees to join our South Hutchinson team that are safety oriented, positive and energetic. 

This position is responsible for the administration of the storeroom.  In this position you may be required to produce work order/work package documentation and estimates including material requisitions. This position is responsible for the operation of the storeroom including general day-to-day supervisor on storeroom personnel.



  • Accountable for Providing Leadership in Support of the Safety Journey and the Company’s Goal of Achieving an Injury-Free Workplace
  • Accountable for Continuous Improvement in Workplace Safety by Promptly Addressing the Root Causes of OIIs or Near Misses, Conducting Effective Safety Meetings, Promptly Addressing Safety Concerns Raised by Employees, and Leading by Example
  • Accountable for EHS Compliance, Quality Policies and Procedures compliance and Environment Policies, Programs and Good Practices and maintains required records for all of these areas.
  • Ensures duties or work instructions are in place and communicated to all staff involved with the plant’s HACCP program and how it applies to product safety, legality, and quality.
  • Ensures adherence to standard work processes (MEWP), including Manufacturing Control and Reporting System (MCRS)
  • Establishes and ensures achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.
  • Ensures appropriate information has been captured for part adds.
  • Accountable for SRI cycle counts and reconciliation


  • Responsible for administering storeroom, including but not limited to SRI, VMI, non-cataloged parts, job kitting, material and parts requisitioning, etc.
  • Responsible for minimizing maintenance costs as pertains to procurement costs and inventory levels.
  • Responsible for referencing technical information and specifications.
  • Responsible for updating part descriptions, documenting definitions, and maintaining the data in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Responsible for preparing and issuing daily work assignments to those under supervision.
  • Responsible for evaluating documentation requirements, providing input formats, and evaluating special equipment needs.
  • Responsible for impacting equipment uptime
  • Responsible for making sure users can use the equipment, by providing training and self-help instructions
  • Responsible for undertaking housekeeping and reporting functions for the area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for remaining current in all required company and job related training.
  • Responsible for promoting harmonious working relationships.
  • Responsible for delivering quality products and services to all internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for representing Morton Salt ensuring proper business conduct and good public relations.


  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or the equivalent required
  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or Business preferred
  • Inventory support experience preferred
  • Minimum (3) years Supervisory experience preferred
  • Possesses knowledge of technical information on the unit/area
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Understanding of maintenance procedures and processes
  • Posses good oral and written skills, in addition to excellent organizational skills
  • Able to develop and execute a plan of action
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other databases for data analysis
